Freelance History
Since 2002, I’ve been working as a freelance writer for several local, national and international publications. My work has been published in more than 21 publications, including USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly and The Washington Times. Over the years, I’ve grown more versatile as a writer, gaining experience in the following mediums:
- military/government writing
- non-profit writing
- advertising copy
- Web site content development
- press releases/speeches
- editorial columns
- letters from the editor
- entertainment/humor writing
In the past decade, I’ve written for a variety of communication vehicles, namely military and community magazines, college publications, newspapers and small-business Web sites. Throughout it all, I’ve learned to tailor my writing style to specific assignments and publications.
Job History
I’ve held various positions in the communications industry, including roles in a media distribution firm, a commercial/government communications firm, and a non-profit organization that supports global entrepreneurs. In these positions, I’ve fine-tuned my writing and editing skills, while positioning myself as a reliable contributor for several communication outlets. Here is a brief list of my accomplishments:
- Won five awards for non-profit magazine
- Worked with 1,000+ entrepreneurs, editing and crafting articles
- Managed content for a community and commercial magazines
